Subject: The Commission presents its legal and political conclusions on the European Citizens’ Initiative concerning the juridical protection of the dignity, the right to life and of the integrity of every human being from conception in the areas of EU competence in which such protection is of particular importance. The Commission considers that the Horizon 2020 provisions on human embryonic stem cell research are in full accordance with the EU Treaties and the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union.
