Subject: The case is based on the introduction of a new regulation in the province of Alberta (Canada), which requested the compulsory attachment of the photograph on the driving license, for facial identification, in order to minimize the risks of identity theft. The majority of the judges of the Supreme Court of Canada, also recalling the jurisprudence of the Court of Strasbourg, has stated that such measure is in contrast with the right to religious freedom of the Hutterian community members, who believe that the second commandment prohibits to be photographed.
